Melissa Dumaz

Melissa Dumaz, LMFT, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, earned a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from the University of La Verne and a Master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from California State University, Long Beach. She was licensed in 2009 and specializes in trauma-informed therapy, grief and loss, relationship satisfaction, parenting challenges, life transitions, and self-care. She is trained in EMDR, Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, the Incredible Years Parenting Program, and Seeking Safety and offers EMDR Intensives.

She founded her own practice 'U Help You' in 2010 and has served as an in-house therapist for the Violence Intervention Program in Los Angeles. Her clinical experience also includes work at Hollywood-YMCA Counseling Center, Counseling 4 Kids, and Foothill Health & Rehab Hospital Center.

Melissa personalizes care using evidence-based techniques, emphasizing collaborative, trauma-informed treatment for individuals, couples, and families. She extends her work through group events, workshops, and speaking engagements in corporations and schools to support broader community education.
