Tonya McDaniel

Tonya McDaniel, MEd, MSW, LCSW, is Director of Program Development at The Center for Growth with almost two decades of experience in psychology and sexuality. Her expertise includes anxiety, OCD, neurodiversity, ADHD, depression, postpartum depression, babyloss, sexual functioning, eating disorders, trauma, grief & loss, and relationship challenges including polyamory.

She uses strengths-based, cognitive behavioral, narrative, psychodynamic, existential, and systemic therapies. She has presented at national conferences, served on interdisciplinary teams, created sexuality curricula, trained staff, advised agencies on sexual relationship policies, and authored Living With Babyloss: Navigating the Grief and Uncertainties of Losing a Pregnancy.

Tonya holds a Master in Social Work and a Master in Education in Human Sexuality from Widener University, studied psychology at the Université du Mirail in Toulouse, France, and as of 2023 was completing her PhD. She believes most individuals have good intentions and creates a nurturing space to celebrate accomplishments, identify areas for growth, and expand resources to overcome conflicts.
