Aimee Copeland Mercier
LCSW, MA, CHt, CCTP, RYT • Executive Director
About
Integrating ancient wisdom with modern science, Aimee Copeland Mercier offers a unique approach to healing that goes beyond traditional talk therapy. As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with additional certifications in clinical hypnotherapy (C.Ht), clinical trauma (CCTP), and yoga teaching (RYT-200), Aimee draws on a diverse toolkit to awaken her clients' innate healing potential.
Aimee's therapeutic approach is grounded in the belief that painful feelings can be signals of old wounds or unexpressed truths. She employs a variety of modalities including mindfulness, hypnotherapy, ketamine-assisted psychotherapy, Internal Family Systems (IFS), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), somatic psychotherapy, Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP), and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). This integrative approach allows her to tailor treatment to each client's unique needs and experiences.
As the Executive Director of Grant Park Counseling Group, Aimee works with adults and couples facing a range of challenges, including childhood trauma, intrusive thoughts, depression, anxiety, panic, relationship issues, identity confusion, low self-esteem, and grief/loss. Her practice emphasizes creating a safe, comfortable space for clients to explore both body and mind, fostering an open and nonjudgmental atmosphere for personal growth and healing.
Aimee's expertise extends beyond individual therapy. She leads an Adult Attachment & Codependency Group, where she weaves emotionally focused therapy, internal family systems, and hypnotherapy to help participants identify unhealthy relationship cycles and develop new skills for forming healthy, mutually satisfying relationships. This group meets every other Sunday via Zoom, offering a unique opportunity for clients to heal attachment wounds in a supportive community setting.
With a Master's degree in addition to her extensive certifications, Aimee embodies a commitment to continuous learning and growth in the field of mental health. Her approach recognizes the deep connection between mind, body, and spirit, addressing imbalances holistically to support overall wellbeing. Whether through individual sessions, couples counseling, or group therapy, Aimee is dedicated to guiding her clients towards a more fulfilling, conscious, and authentic existence.
