About
Amanda Rothman, MA, LCAT, RDT, is a Clinical Drama Therapist who uses storytelling, creative writing, role-play, and improvisation.
She has 12 years studying and performing improvised theater and has worked as a group and individual drama therapist in inpatient psychiatric departments and virtual therapy group practices. She received a Fulbright Scholarship for Participatory Action Research in Sri Lanka.
She facilitates drama-informed staff wellness workshops and is adjunct faculty at NYU Stern teaching "Improvisation for Ethical Leadership." In clinical work she emphasizes a culturally humble and anti-racist clinical approach that builds on each client's strengths, moves at their pace, and complements traditional talk therapy.
