Liya Ferrante
Mental Health Case Worker
About
Empowering vulnerable populations through innovative behavioral interventions is at the heart of Liya Ferrante's approach to mental health care. As a Mental Health Case Worker and first-year Master's in Social Work (MSW) student, Liya brings a fresh perspective and a wealth of experience to her practice, particularly in supporting children with anxiety-based disorders.
Liya's journey in mental health began at the University of Nevada Las Vegas, where she earned her bachelor's degree in psychology with a minor in family studies. During her undergraduate years, she honed her skills as a research assistant, focusing on behavioral interventions that empower children struggling with anxiety. This early experience laid the foundation for her passion in working with vulnerable populations and her commitment to evidence-based practices.
Following her graduation, Liya's dedication to community service led her to work for a local nonprofit, where she fought for literacy and food security for school-age children during the challenging times of the pandemic. Her commitment to empowering others continued as she took on the role of Child Development Specialist at a residential treatment center for women and children. In this position, Liya worked tirelessly to support women and facilitate family reunification, demonstrating her ability to navigate complex family dynamics and provide crucial support during critical transitions.
In 2022, Liya relocated to Ogden, where she refocused her efforts on mental health. She began teaching mindfulness and yoga, integrating holistic approaches to well-being into her practice. Additionally, Liya took on the responsibility of coordinating community resources for patients in the Intermountain Behavioral Health Units, showcasing her ability to connect clients with vital support systems and her understanding of the broader mental health care landscape.
Liya's philosophy centers on the belief that access to basic needs is fundamental to achieving happy and fulfilling lives. She is committed to supporting individuals in finding community resources, ensuring they have a safe environment in which to grow and thrive. Recognizing that life's challenges can be overwhelming, Liya strives to create a supportive, empathetic space where no one has to navigate difficulties alone. Her diverse background and ongoing education in social work equip her with a unique set of skills to address a wide range of mental health concerns, always with an eye toward empowerment and personal growth.
