About

Through the power of art, play, and conversation, Liz Gobin, MA, LMHCA, creates a warm and inviting space where children and individuals with developmental disabilities can explore, grow, and heal. Specializing in therapy for clients ages 3 to 13, Liz brings a unique blend of empathy, curiosity, and playfulness to her practice, ensuring each session is tailored to the individual needs of her clients.

Liz's approach is deeply rooted in client-centered therapy, believing that each person's story is unique and deserving of personalized care. Her goal is to provide a safe environment where clients can work towards deeper understanding and personal growth. This commitment to individualized support extends beyond the therapy room, as Liz is passionate about building collaborative partnerships with teachers and schools, and advocating alongside parents to navigate the often complex world of individualized support for their children.

With a background that spans both education and mental health, Liz brings a wealth of experience to her practice. She completed her internship at a child advocacy center, where she provided mental health services to children who have experienced significant trauma and abuse. This experience continues to inform her work, as she maintains a part-time role at the center, supporting families through challenging times. Prior to becoming a therapist, Liz worked as a kindergarten and first-grade teacher, as well as a Social-Emotional Learning Specialist in the public school setting. These roles allowed her to build strong connections with children and families in her local community, giving her invaluable insights into the challenges many face in accessing mental health support.

Liz's areas of expertise are diverse, reflecting her comprehensive approach to mental health. She supports children, families, and individuals with disabilities in areas including ADHD, anxiety, depression, grief, neurodivergence, social skills, sexual abuse issues, shame, trauma, and PTSD. Her practice also focuses on building and repairing early attachment connections, understanding the impacts of historical and generational trauma, and honoring racial and cultural identities. Liz is particularly skilled in improving communication and systems of support in educational settings, drawing on her background in education to advocate for individualized support and accommodations.

As an out-of-network provider, Liz is committed to making therapy accessible to those who need it. She understands the difficulties families in her area face when trying to locate services during times of struggle or crisis, and she's grateful to be able to offer mental health support that bridges this gap. With Liz Gobin, clients find not just a therapist, but a dedicated advocate, a skilled educator, and a compassionate guide on their journey towards healing and growth.
