Shelley Crawford Jackson
LMHC • Licensed Mental Health Counselor
About
With a deep understanding of the human psyche and a passion for helping others, Shelley Crawford Jackson, LMHC, brings a unique blend of empathy and expertise to her therapy practice. Specializing in relational psychotherapy, attachment theory, and trauma recovery, Shelley creates a safe, non-judgmental space where clients can explore their innermost thoughts and feelings.
Shelley's approach is rooted in the belief that everyone has developed answers to survive life's difficulties, but sometimes these coping mechanisms no longer serve us. She skillfully guides clients through the process of understanding these patterns, helping them develop healthier ways of processing emotions, communicating, and connecting with themselves and others.
Drawing from her extensive training in grief treatment and interpersonal neurobiology, Shelley incorporates a variety of therapeutic techniques tailored to each client's needs. She utilizes specific skills from Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and Narrative Therapy when appropriate. This integrative approach allows her to address a wide range of issues, from relationship difficulties and overwhelming emotions to loss and trauma.
Shelley holds a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Walden University and is licensed as a Mental Health Counselor in Washington and a Professional Counselor in Oregon. Her academic background, combined with her natural inclination towards unconditional positive regard, enables her to provide effective, compassionate care to her clients.
In her practice, Shelley emphasizes the importance of the therapeutic relationship as a catalyst for change. She works collaboratively with clients, helping them identify and honor their strengths while developing tools to propel them toward healing, growth, and positive change. Whether you're struggling with personal distress, pain, or confusion, Shelley is committed to providing a supportive environment where you can take risks, explore new ways of thinking, and ultimately, thrive.
