Rosario S. Williams
LMFT • Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist
About
Rosario S. Williams, LMFT, brings a unique perspective to therapy, rooted in her belief that individuals have the power to rewrite their personal narratives. Drawing inspiration from Brené Brown's philosophy, Williams emphasizes that "when we own our stories, we get to write the ending." This empowering approach forms the foundation of her therapeutic process, guiding clients towards resilience and self-discovery.
With 13 years of diverse experience, Williams has honed her expertise in providing individual and family therapy across various settings, including homes, schools, and outpatient clinics. Her practice spans a wide range of specialties, encompassing infant, child, and adolescent mental health, as well as adult therapy within individual and couples counseling contexts. Williams's areas of expertise include parenting and development issues, academic challenges, trauma-informed care, and treatment for conditions such as ADHD, PTSD, anxiety, depression, and grief.
Williams's journey as a therapist is deeply informed by her personal background. Born in Zinapecuaro, Michoacan, Mexico, and raised in South Los Angeles as the eldest of six siblings in a traditional Mexican family, she developed a profound understanding of the value of education in pursuing one's dreams. This unique perspective allows her to connect with clients from diverse backgrounds and navigate complex family dynamics with empathy and insight.
Professionally, Williams has pursued extensive training and certifications to enhance her therapeutic toolkit. Her credentials include certifications in Parents as Teachers (PAT), Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT), Trauma-Informed Care (TIC), and various positive parenting programs. This comprehensive skill set enables her to tailor her approach to each client's specific needs, whether working with children, couples, or families.
In her work with children, Williams draws parallels to the story of "Harold and the Purple Crayon," viewing therapy as a collaborative journey of self-exploration. She recognizes the importance of supportive, loving, and predictable relationships in guiding a child's discovery and, when appropriate, involves caregivers and family members in the therapeutic process to address problems and achieve healing.
Rosario S. Williams stands ready to guide clients in owning their stories and rewriting their endings. Her bilingual services in English and Spanish further extend her ability to connect with and support a diverse clientele, making her a versatile and compassionate therapist committed to facilitating positive change in her clients' lives.
