Tara's educational journey reflects her dedication to the field of mental health. She holds a Master's degree from the University of La Verne and a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from California State University, Northridge. Her academic pursuits were balanced with personal milestones, as she completed her graduate studies while raising her young children, showcasing her ability to manage multiple responsibilities effectively.

Throughout her career, Tara has gained extensive experience in various therapeutic settings. She spent four years working with individuals affected by domestic violence, six years focusing on children and their families, and three years directly serving military service members and their families. This diverse background has equipped her with a broad understanding of human experiences and challenges, allowing her to connect with clients from all walks of life.

Tara's approach to therapy is both direct and compassionate. She respects her clients and meets them where they are, often using humor when appropriate to create a comfortable and productive therapeutic environment. Her practice offers individual therapy, couples therapy, and adolescent therapy, tailoring her methods to best suit each client's unique situation. Tara is trained in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) and the Gottman couples counseling approach, and she is a Certified Gottman Bringing Baby Home Educator. She takes a narrative, short-term, solution-focused approach, believing in the power of storytelling to bring about understanding and quick, noticeable change.

In her practice, Tara emphasizes the importance of consistent attendance and client commitment to the therapeutic process. She structures her sessions to create actionable plans, explore how personal history may affect the future, and guide clients towards living life to the fullest. While she acknowledges that therapy can be intense and challenging, Tara is dedicated to providing a supportive environment where clients can work towards relief and direction in their lives. Her experience working with pilots and individuals in the aviation field, gained during her time with the military, further broadens her ability to understand and assist clients from specialized professions.

Tara's personal experiences, including her upbringing in a military family and her own life transitions, inform her empathetic approach to therapy.
