Allan Schwartz, L.C.S.W., Ph.D., is a licensed clinical social worker with over 30 years of experience in private practice. He is licensed in Colorado (License No. 127) and New York (License No. R039535). Dr. Schwartz earned his M.S.W. from the Wurzweiler School of Social Work in 1988 and his Ph.D. from the Ferkauf Graduate School of Psychology in 1976, both at Yeshiva University in New York City. In 1992, he became a certified psychoanalyst through the National Psychological Association for Psychoanalysis.

Prior to establishing his full-time private practice, Dr. Schwartz gained extensive clinical experience in a variety of settings. His work included positions at Bronx Lebanon Hospital’s outpatient psychiatry department, FEGS’ continuing day treatment program for individuals with chronic mental illness, and the adult outpatient psychiatry department at the geriatric center of Bronx Municipal Hospital Center.

In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Schwartz is a contributor to MentalHealth.com Answers (formerly MentalHelp.net). Through his writing, he provides compassionate, clear, and clinically grounded responses to mental health questions, helping individuals better understand their challenges and explore informed paths toward care.
